Pastor Stephen Grant?

Stephen Grant is the pastor at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church on eastern Long Island. Grant is one of the more unique second-career clergy around, as he once worked for the CIA. Besides theology, his interests include archery, golf, writing, classic films, the beach, poker, baseball, and history. Grant also knows his wines, champagnes and brews. Oh yes, he generally dislikes politicians, and happens to be an expert marksman with a handgun and a rifle, while being pretty handy with a combat knife as well.

Another Thumbs Up for HEROES AND VILLAINS

Self-Publishing Review Gives Big Thumbs Up for HEROES AND VILLAINS

A "WOW" review of HEROES AND VILLAINS from Self-Publishing Review. SPR says,
"Keating manages to instill the same suspense of his other epic thrillers into this unlikely little gem. As he always does, Pastor Grant brings bravado and humility to the table at the same time, instilling the book with morality, action and thought-provoking revelations from start to finish. Keating’s creativity and storytelling ability remain on point, for a fun and different take on Pastor Grant, and one that’s just as satisfying as longer books in the series."

Ray Keating as a Guest Speaker - Via Phone or Skype

Dear Friends of the Pastor Stephen Grant Novels:

If you are interested, I would love to speak to your church, group, book club, etc. about my novels, writing, Christianity in our culture, and more! Of course, the logistics and costs of making personal appearances across the country are daunting, so I’m tossing out the idea of speaking to your group via telephone (all you need is a speaker phone) or Skype (or a similar Internet video service). I’ve done this several times in my economist and podcaster lives, and would love to start doing it with the Pastor Stephen Grant novels. I usually offer some prepared remarks and then toss it open for some fun Q&A.

I can speak about one book and/or the entire Pastor Stephen Grant universe – whatever might fit your needs. Also, if your group would like to order signed books in advance, we can of course do that through www.raykeatingonline.com. I’d love to hear back to see if this appeals to you and how we can make it work. Just shoot me an email at raykeating@keatingreports.com.

Thanks again for your support, and God bless!

Stephen Grant – the Former CIA Operative and Current Pastor – Returns to Face Dangers at a Local Comic-Con in HEROES AND VILLAINS

Heroes and Villains is the first short story from award-winning novelist Ray Keating, and it ranks as another exciting thriller. Stephen Grant, pastor at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church on Long Island, a former Navy SEAL and onetime CIA operative, must confront violence springing from a toxic mixture of pop culture and ideological extremism.

Of course, many people think of Grant as a hero. At various times defending the Christian Church and the United States over the years, he has journeyed across the nation and around the world. But now Grant finds himself in an entirely unfamiliar setting – a comic book, science fiction and fantasy convention. But he still joins forces with a unique set of heroes in an attempt to foil a villainous plot against one of the all-time great comic book writers and artists.

Heroes and Villains: A Pastor Stephen Grant Short Story comes on the heels of Keating’s just-released Reagan Country: A Pastor Stephen Grant Novel, which takes readers on a wild ride from the Reagan Presidential Library in California to the White House to a Russian Orthodox monastery to the Kremlin, while also providing a salute to the legacy of Ronald Reagan.

Ray Keating said, “With Heroes and Villains and Reagan Country being released so close together, I hope that readers have great fun spending this summer with Pastor Stephen Grant. I think these two adventures will fit quite nicely on everyone’s summer reading list.”

In fact, one Amazon reviewer said the following about Reagan Country: “Another fun Keating read, perfect escapism fiction, great for the beach or vacation.”

Keating’s previous Pastor Stephen Grant thrillers/mysteries – Lionhearts, Wine Into Water, Murderer’s Row, The River, An Advent For Religious Liberty, Root of All Evil? and Warrior Monk – have received widespread praise.
