A new second edition of Warrior Monk: A Pastor Stephen Grant Novel has just been published. Why should readers bother with it?
1. New Author Introduction. The new edition has an introduction from Ray Keating, the author of the Pastor Stephen Grant novels. Keating addresses “a few questions people had about the book. For example, what exactly led to writing this story? What the heck was I thinking while writing? What were my expectations? What’s been the response? And more broadly, what’s the point of this endeavor?” Keating also notes “a set of rules that I set down early, and have tried to stick with while writing each subsequent book.”
2. A New Epilogue. Keating has added a new epilogue in this second edition, which provides a peek at or glimpse of an upcoming Pastor Stephen Grant novel. We’ll leave it at that.
3. Thumbs-Up Reviews. Warrior Monk has received assorted thumbs-up reviews. That includes the following comment from Tyrel Bramwell, author of The Gift and the Defender: “It's a spectacular ride steeped in theological intrigue! As a fan of G.K. Chesterton I delighted in the similarities between Keating's Pastor Stephen Grant and Chesterton's Father Brown. In the 20th century, Chesterton, a journalist (among other things), gave the world a detective priest. In the 21st, another journalist (among other things), Keating, gave the world a spy-turned-pastor." As for Amazon reviews, the average rating is 4.4 out of 5 stars.
